Are you questioning what to pack for a trip to Miami?
I decided to do a post on Miami packing since everyone who comes to visit is asking the same question? What should I pack for Miami?
To start Miami and Miami Beach is anything goes kind of city, sort of. We have so many tourist nothing is really frowned upon. That being said, locals have their standards and I am going to share what those are.
- Wearing nice sandals (not flip flops) to any restaurant is perfectly acceptable. Defining Nice: People in Miami have sandals just for going out in. We don’t wear them to the beach and they’re probably designer.
2. White: Wearing white is a must. Head to toe is perfectly acceptable. Even white jeans with a white shirt are totally fine.
3. Leave your overly tight bondage dresses at home. Style in Miami is luxe but relaxed. No one is trying that hard.
4. A day outfit might look like something I am wearing in this post if you’re out doing stuff for the day. Or if you’re by the beach or the pool make sure your cover up is more then denim shorts and a t-shirt. We take our loungewear very seriously here. Invest in a nice sheer caftan or a weight light dress or romper.
5. Pack more than one pair of sunglasses, you’ll want them.
6. Bring a nice Beach Bag. Here in Miami, these are the extension of our purses/bags. The Louis Vuitton Never full or the Goyard Tote are pretty common here. Not saying you need that, but just so you can get a visual.
7. What are you wearing to a late dinner and a nightclub? Stiletto or block heeled sandals and a dress or romper. Leave the long flowy dresses for daytime. At night we’re wearing shorter dresses or rompers and even jeans with nice tops.
8. A third layer or a jacket. Bring one. You’ll be happy you did. We keep are buildings heavily air conditioned.
9. Lastly and very important, swim suits. Notice the “s” at the end of suits. Bring one for every day if you have enough. In Miami, this is an outfit.
I hope this helps with your packing. If you have any questions I am always happy to help! I also included some fave picks of mine below. Xx Nik
